My name is Karaline Houston
I am currently 20 years and a sophomore at Mercer University. I am majoring in both Law and Public Policy and Journalism. I have always been passionate about photography, videography, writing, and journalism as a whole. One of my favorite hobbies is shooting on film and the process of developing. I love the unique experience and quality I can achieve shooting film photography.

My Portfolio
My portfolio is comprised of photographs I've taken through out this year. Through my photography I hope to portray the beauty of everyday life, tell stories, and add a sense of personalized depth to my images. By looking at my portfolio, I hope you gain a understanding of my photography style, creative insight, and artistic choices.

Discover The World, The Universe, and your Community
The Museum of Arts and Sciences was founded in 1956 in the basement of the old Wesleyan Conservatory. Today the Museum of Arts and Sciences is the largest general-purpose museum and the only cultural institution dedicated to both arts and sciences in the State of Georgia. MAS has preserved the history of our community, State, and nation through scientific, cultural, artistic, and historical elements. MAS is designed to not only preserve our history but also help us gain a better understanding of it. The museum is dedicated to its core value of education through exposure to real art, live animals, natural and scientific elements, as well as hands-on experiences to explore nature and the history of Macon, Ga. This is key to developing knowledge, gaining insight, and developing a better understanding of the World we live in, and helps promote lifelong learning. MAS has the capability to make us view our communities, State, and even world in a completely different light. Through different forms of immersion, The Museum of Arts and Sciences induces reflection, and contemplation, forming new connections, and allowing us to take in new perspectives. The museum creates experiences designed to evoke wonder, vitalize curiosity, and open the mind to new exploration and discovery.
New Worlds of Discovery Await

In March, The Museum of Arts and Sciences presents the 11th annual Emerging National Exhibition. This exhibition is dedicated to showcasing rising artists across the United States. Displayed in this exhibition are works ranging from ceramic sculptures, large scale abstract paintings, and mixed media art installations. This years featured artists from undergraduate and graduate art programs across the nation are Namwon Choi, Sandra Trujillo, Esteban Patillo, and Keaton Wynn.

The Discovery House is comprised of three floors of interactive and hands-on exhibits dedicated to Art, Science, and Humanities. On the 3rd floor known as the Scientist's Workshop, pictured is Ziggy Dig where visitors get the dig and find their own fossils. The exhibit gets it's name from the 40-million-year-old Zygorhiza whale fossil instillation that hangs above the digging site.

The bright red train car placed near entrance and exit of The Museum of Arts and Sciences is the SAL Caboose #5236. The train car was built in 1923 and was donated to the museum in 1964, after a forty-one year life-time
